Building in the Bazaar

The principles of open source and free software are values we emphasize a lot at DIGITALAX. They are foundational for the value layer unlocked by indie web3 fashion, game dev and modding as the core drivers of the entire open web3 metaverse. At DIGITALAX we build live in the web3 bazaar, across technical, creative, community, market, cultural, and ultimately every concievable aspect of our entire ecosystem.
Our team tests continuously in live production at all times and refines deliberately architected novel concepts to catalyse their intended results. The industries our ecosystem interconnects, from Web3 Fashion to NFTs to Decentralised Esports, all push the bleeding edge of as yet uncharted technical, cultural, and market frontiers. Most of our endeavors have never been explored by other teams before, and never previously combined in such unique ways. We build hybrid systems without compromise on web3 principles, for a crossover between realms, and ways of thought, work, coordination, and the generation of squad wealth.

First Multi-Token ERC-998 Bridge Between Ethereum and Polygon Network

DIGITALAX has implemented the first ever multi-token bridge between Mainnet and Polygon (Matic Network). This includes the ability to move both a Parent 721 token and its Child 1155 material NFT components to Mainnet from Matic. With this, we have implemented the first ever ERC-998 variant bridge. A major engineering milestone for not just the DIGITALAX team, but rather the broader Web3, Ethereum and Matic community.
DIGITALAX Garment NFT’s are more complex than standard ERC721 tokens. From the beginning we have pioneered a variant of the ERC-998 standard where each 721 ‘Parent’ NFT includes a collection of 1155 ‘Child’ NFTs. Thus, the metadata is far more complex and holds the Primary Sale Price in ETH as used by our staking pool to calculate rewards, and thus would not be compatible with a simple default transfer from Matic.
A significant engineering feat, made possible through spirited and extensive hours devoted by our dev team. We are proud to open source these contracts as we do our part to contribute to the broader ecosystem, especially advancing Layer 2 scalability for Ethereum and by extension the variety of use cases this enables.

Our Tools for Crafting the Metaverse

Ethereum
  • Ethereum Ethereum is our web3 backbone. It is how we stay rooted to the principles of authentic decentralisation which enables we build. It also allows us to contribute actively to the broader open source ecosystem, with the largest and most passionate global developer base. All DIGITALAX Smart Contract code is open sourced through our Github. In the past year we engineered and deployed the very first ERC-998 variant for our Fractional Garment Ownership open source material libraries. Further, with security at the non-negotiable heart of everything that we do, the EVM is the most live market battle tested, robust and scalable for our mission over the long term. By default, DIGITALAX will continue to stay within the Ethereum ecosystem as it evolves through EIP1559, ETH2.0 and full application ubiquity.
The Graph
  • The Graph In modern front end architecture, GraphQL is one of the most essential new tools any developer or protocol should be fluent in. The Graph allows us to use GraphQL to directly query our smart contracts and render the right information to the front end, instead of a resource intensive pull for each bit of data in all of existence every time there is a call. It helps us keep our sanity whilst being fully web3 native.
Fauna
  • Fauna DIGITALAX uses a serverless API architecture through Claudia.js and Amazon Lambda functions alongside Fauna. Our project uses both on and off chain data across the marketplace, ESPA casual esports tournaments and DRIP hybrid digital-physical fashion NFT collections. Fauna allows us to support this all with consistent data, indexing and especially across both unique and non-unique values. The queries are lightning fast and can be achieved within single line commands. When we talk about building for the open metaverse, our ledger of data, records and activity is extremely important, especially when it’s not completely web3 native.

Polygon

  • Polygon To remain sustainable, radically inclusive and accessible whilst Ethereum continues to scale and advance, we have integrated with Polygon since February; the leading Layer 2 solution for Ethereum. We chose Polygon because it remains the most authentic L2 for the web3 developer community. Polygon leverages the EVM for enhanced reliability and securing the network. The Polygon architectural roadmap is set on course as an entire ecosystem to accomodate greater throughput, capacity and flexibility for the metaverse. They achieve this by enabling anyone to migrate between scaling solutions and adapt across a multitude of decentralised and customisable use cases. Our Polygon integration ensures that DIGITALAX is firmly enmeshed in the Ethereum ecosystem, yet also unhindered by the present growing pains faced by pre-ETH2.0 Mainnet throughput and TPS limitations. All DIGITALAX Smart Contracts deployed on Ethereum Mainnet are now also deployed on Matic Network and vice versa.

Next.js

  • Next.js Next comes with many great out of the box features that aren’t available with just plain React; everything from code splitting for load time optimization for a better user experience to native image components for drastically reduced file sizes. The allure of fashion relies vitally on visual impressions of the garments or wearables we interact with. Through Next, we keep up with our digicore vibes without sacrificing a single swatch of web3 fashion utility in the bleeding edge interfaces through which we display our style.

Rarible Protocol SDK

  • DIGITALAX has fully integrated the Rarible Polygon SDK across all of our primary and secondary marketplaces, and custom Realm primary interfaces. The shared orderbook architecture lists NFTs across both the Rarible and DIGITALAX marketplaces for vast liquidity and NFT discoverability. Royalty splits are supported for up to 10 designers per NFT and multi-token payments are accepted for all listings.
